Meet Cris, owner of North County Natural Birth. She is carrying very special cargo. Not one #rainbowbaby, but TWO. Yep, the Harper Family is growing from a family of 6 to a family of 8! They are incredibly blessed! After the births of their precious 4 children, they experienced 4 pregnancy losses in a row. We have been crying and praying together for 3 years now… bonded in sorrow, joy, hope, faith and love. I am so thankful for this beautiful woman I can call my friend, and excited beyond words about the upcoming birth of her baby girls. These babies are so loved!

What is a rainbow baby you ask? Rainbow babies are born after the loss of a previous child. I love this explanation: “It is understood that the beauty of a rainbow does not negate the ravages of any storm. When a rainbow appears it does not mean that the storm never happened, or that we are not still dealing with it’s aftermath. It means that something beautiful and full of light has appeared in the midst of the darkness and clouds. Storm clouds may still hover, but the rainbow provides a counterbalance of color, energy, and hope.”  -Author Unknown

I was able to capture a few shots of Cris all by herself at our Fall Family Mini Session in Murrieta…How stunning is she at 30 weeks pregnant with twins?! Love you friend!

My gorgeous friend and doula, Holly,  is almost ready to have her miracle babies. I am over the moon excited for her and enjoyed every minute of this maternity session. One fun aspect is the nursery book she brought. It was her grandma’s favorite. I love incorporating  personal  items into my sessions.  It’s a sweet book called The Best Nest. She had her make up done by the very talented Shelby McElroy and looked exquisite!

How lucky are we in Southern California to have incredibly nice weather in winter? Amazing day, amazing family. I am blessed beyond words to be their birth photographer!

I love beach maternity sessions in Southern California. We are so blessed to be able to do this in the fall and winter! I had so much fun with this couple that my cheeks hurt from laughter by the end of the session. We met a few characters on the beach that kept us chuckling for weeks. I’m honored to be the “V” Family’s birth and new baby photographer also:) Congratulations “V” family! Can’t wait to meet sweet baby girl Kayleigh.

Meet Selah Joy, born at home in water, November 15th, 2013 at 9:22am. I had the pleasure of supporting the “C” family as the birth doula. It was a fast, joyful birth filled with prayer and laughter. Around 2 hours after Selah was born, I drew a soothing post partum newborn herbal bath, from Euphoric Herbals. This is a wonderful post birth healing experience for mama and baby. The herbs included are calendula, comfrey, chamomile and lavender. It makes the whole house smell divine! As you can see Selah and mama  loved it! Thank you for inviting me to serve you as the doula “C” family! xoxo

I love returning to my client’s homes for lifestyle family & new baby sessions. This newborn herbal bath was very unique in that it was just for baby in her Tummy Tub. Mom opted out of joining Tess for the post partum healing herbal bath, and decided to include the whole family for “baby’s first bath.” It was really a special time and baby Tess just loved it. Congratulations “R” Family on your new baby girl! I was honored to be your birth photographer. xoxo Robin

It gives me so much pleasure to watch the families of my clients grow. My fall mini sessions had several returning clients including those I was the birth photographer and doula for. I feel so blessed to have connected with several of my clients on such a deep level that they become friends. The “E” family is so beautiful, inside and out. This mama has a heart of gold and has been so sweet to me! She has showered me with gifts, love, and her returning business. I photographed the birth of her little girl Violet and was super excited to see her as a beautiful thriving toddler. Thank you for your love and support! xoxo Robin

HELLO THERE! Wondering why I haven’t posted on this blog in A YEAR?! I know! Shame shame! Is it because I haven’t been working? NOPE, quite the opposite. A few things have happened:

1. I had a few private clients. 100% privacy is always an option with me and those images don’t get shared online.

2. I had a baby! I am a proud mama to a GIRL…finally! She is a little sister to 3 crazy boys  :)Shortly after she was born we had the holiday season

3. I had a computer crash! DEAD, as in I had to buy a completely new system. Don’t worry I didn’t lose any photos – those are all safely backed up

4. Maternity leave. I took time off to enjoy my LAST baby. Sniff sniff.

5. I got behind from reasons 1-4 and it was a daunting task to catch up again! Then I spent at least a month getting ready for Your Natural Baby Fair, which turned out awesome.

6. ANOTHER COMPUTER CRASH. No lost photos, but hours, and weeks, of EXTRA work to restore everything.

7. Business has been going well! I’m busy with attending births and doing Placenta Encapsulation so all my “free time” (ha ha ha! Is there such a thing?!) is spent on my current commitments.

Sooo, I have been trying to at least keep my FB page updated with sneak peeks. I’m doing my best. I’m getting very little sleep and trying to figure out my new role as a work at home mom (WAHM) with FOUR KIDS:)I love love love my clients and my family. I am so blessed. I am working really hard and it’s awesome to see it pay off. I love the relationships I have built and memories I have captured. The time passes oh so quickly and I feel honored to capture the BEST days of your life for you – maternity, birth, breastfeeding, new babies. It goes way too fast.

EXCITING NEWS! I am going to be working with the very talented Corina Nielsen! Birth Blessings Photography and Childbirth Services is getting a professional facelift. One of the things that has been holding me back on updating my posts here is the design. I really wanted a custom designed logo and blog. I have a vision and a passion and it really isn’t portrayed well….yet! BUT it will be soon. Corina is amazing and I have full faith she will take my vision and bring it full circle with her design talents. I am over the moon she had an opening for me! 2014 is going to be GREAT!

Thanks for sticking around and supporting me!
