I had so much fun with this family 2 weeks ago! I’ve been very busy attending births and finally got a work day in the office today. Yay! I love this time of year in San Diego. The yellow flowering weeds are my favorite
Little Christian just turned 1 year and is just adorable. He had a blast exploring the park, playing in the dirt, and flying high with mommy and daddy. 1 year olds are so precious! Thanks for hanging out with me “L” Family!

I was contacted by the “F” family when their baby Gianni was 6 weeks old. Normally I do newborn sessions from 5-14 days old, but I just can’t turn down a sweet baby! Mom really wanted to get some sleepy shots on the bean bag *if possible!* I had my doubts but patience and perseverance really does pay offWe did it! And in her favorite Panda hat. She just discovered Etsy and had a blast shopping for cute stuff. The panda hat is special to her because she went to China and had her picture taken with an actual live Panda bear! Wow! How cool is that? Grandma was there for the duration of the shoot and she was a photog’s dream! Made me tea, held the blankets, soothed the baby, told me birth stories…she was awesome. This beautiful little baby is a natural born Bradley Baby. His mama and daddy took the Bradley Method class with Liza Janda over at Babies in Bloom. I highly recommend it if you are looking for a great childbirth class and live in the North County San Diego Area!
How adorable are these parents? And Gianni? Sweet little man. I’m so blessed to do this work. Thank you “F” family for having me!

It’s that time again. Time to reflect on our work from last year and plan for the new year. I am a part of a lovely network of birth photographers at BirthPhotographers.com and we are having a contest. We all got to submit our favorite birth image from 2011. My submission was based on emotion. It’s technically not the greatest, nor does it have fabulous light. See, it was a home birth and it was pitch black. The only available light was the midwife’s flashlight. I might have been standing on the bed at this point, trying not to miss this moment…in a crowded small space. This was a magical moment…her first home birth (second baby) and the sex of the baby was a surprise. This is her mother in law beside her. They are overwhelmed with the joy of the miracle of birth…and another daughter. It was amazing! I LOVE my job. I LOVE birth.
