Temecula Murrieta Birth Photographer :: Robin Baker :: Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How do I book a session?
A: Use the CONTACT form and we can discuss availability and any questions you may have. I will send you my birth and portrait contract via email and collect a deposit to book your session. If you are ready to pay your deposit and schedule your session, use the BOOK NOW form. You may also reach me via telephone at 760.672.7859. Please leave a detailed message with your due date, birth location, and city of residence. I look forward to chatting with you!

Q: How much is the deposit to book my session? Does it go toward my collection price? When is the balance due?
A: Your session deposit IS applied toward your collection price. The balance is due by the date of your scheduled portrait session and at 36 weeks for births and {fresh} baby.

The following deposit fees apply:

  • $100 for mini-sessions
  • $150 for full portrait sessions
  • $500 for birth sessions, doula services, and Day in the Life Documentary Sessions

Q: I just finished my session with you, now what?
A: I will send you a “sneak peek” of 3-5 photos from your session within 72 hours. Within 2-4 weeks your online, password protected gallery will be sent via email. I do not share private galleries, however, you may share this gallery with anyone you choose. When you receive your online gallery link, there will be instructions on how to easily choose your photos for your slideshow, image box, and custom album. How fast the products are delivered depends upon how quickly you choose your images and my current workload. The products that are included in your prepaid collection will be available for pick up or shipping. If you are local I will hand deliver your package. Expect a turnaround time of 4-6 weeks from session to products in hand. Allow 4 weeks extra for custom photo Albums. If you have signed a model release, you will be notified to approve any blog post before it goes live.

Q: Do you provide digital negatives?
A: Yes, they are included in most collections (see pricing guide) and available for purchase. A print release is given so you can print at a lab of your choice. (I will give you quality lab suggestions)

Q: Where is your studio located?
A: I shoot ‘on location’ –  your home, place of birth, the beach, or a favorite park. If you are unsure about a location, call for a consultation and I can help you figure out what suits your style.

Q: What type of equipment do you use?
A: I am currently using all Cannon camera equipment. All images are captured in RAW format and processed with Adobe Camera Raw and Photoshop CS6. Custom birth announcements, storyboards, collages, and cards are created in Photoshop.

Q: What education do you have?
A: I have an Associates of Arts degree and a degree in Dental Hygiene. I am a  DONA Birth Doula and A Bradley Method® Instructor. I currently do not have a degree in photography but am constantly educating myself though classes, research and practice. I took photography courses in high school and college in the traditional 35mm darkroom. I am really enjoying the digital world of photography too.

Q: Where do you get your inspiration?
A: The wonderful world the Lord has made inspires me daily. I love all the natural blessings He has given us: flowers, bugs, plants, water, the beach, etc. The miracle of life is my passion. A woman is never more beautiful than when carrying, birthing, and nursing a child. It amazes me every time – each mother and baby are so unique and precious. I love photographing my children and find inspiration daily by watching them live their busy little lives.

Q: What should I wear to my session?
A: Be colorful and creative. Layer. Mix it up and bring a few choices. I don’t recommend white shirts, however I will never tell you what to wear – they are your portraits. Check out Wardrobe Wednesday on FB, they have cute ideas!

Q: Can my pet join our session?
A: Absolutely! I love animals and consider them ‘part of the family.’

Q: Do you travel?
A: Right now my travel is limited to the Southern California region due to work an family obligations. I hope to travel further in the future.
